VSPS Newsletter Issue 2

2 February 1993

Dear VSPS Member
I'm sure you're wondering what on earth has happened to VSPS, and I do apologise for not getting in touch sooner.

I'm sorry to say that Vivian hasn't been at all well over the last year. He has been in hospital fIve or six times - including the Christmas period. As you know, VSPS was set up as a means for Vivian to speak directly to his 'chums', and he is very keen to put together a pack for VSPS members; but obviously I don't want to put any pressure on him whilst he is recuperating.

The good news is that the last time I spoke to Vivian (about ten days ago), he sounded much better; so it's fingers crossed that 1993 will prove to be a happy, healthy and successful year for him. I believe he is currently working on a number of projects - nothing official yet, but you'll be the first to know.

In view of the circumstances, your subscription period is extended indefinitely - no need to renew. If you are a new member, and have recently sent me a cheque, I am returning it with this letter. I have enrolled you as a member, but have decided not to accept subs at present, since I don't want anyone to feel 'ripped off'. Subs for new members will be due on receipt of your first newsletter.

As you can see, VSPS has moved (yet again). The above address is the current one for all correspondence. If you would like to see any particular features in your newsletter (eg classified ads, question and answer column, archive material...), please do get in touch. I know many of you would like to see a Vivian discography, so if anyone has an up-to-date version, I'd be deliqhted to receive a copy for publication. - Vivian himself has lost track of all the work he's done! Artides, letters etc. are also very welcome.

Once again, my sincere apologies. If anyone wants to send cards or brief messages to Vivian, I will forward them to him.
